Flexibility and reliability in equally large measures

Customer experience confirms that the Cryovac® FLOW-VAC® system, launched in cooperation with ULMA, is one of the most successful packaging systems available today on the European market. FLOW-VAC was designed to improve the loading operation of industrial and consumer units of cheese, processed and fresh meat into a vacuum packaging machine. It includes a complete range of loaders covering the widest food industry needs.

Accessible automation
Applications of the Cryovac® FLOW-VAC include fresh or frozen meat, fish and cheese products. The system incorporates a complete range of packaging materials with different levels of O2 barrier, gas permeability, and abuse resistance. The films are pasteurisable and available plain or printed, clear or pigmented. The FLOW-VAC loading system and the complete range of Cryovac® RS materials offer a solution to replace thermoforming systems where high levels of automation and flexibility are needed. Following the first installations in the cheese and processed meat markets, FLOW-VAC has now become a popular option for packaging primal cuts of fresh pork meat.

All-round benefits
This state-of-the-art system offers immense flexibility due to a choice of product sizes and the fact that no tooling changes are required. User-friendliness and safety are top priorities and the solution combines automation with the well known Cryovac® shrink and vacuum equipment and material offer. The resulting tailormade packaging brings flexibility to both medium sized processors and to the large producers of industrial processed meat, fresh pork and cheese.

Impressive results
The FLOW-VAC system has proved particularly popular with customers in Central Eastern Europe, who appreciate the easiness of the FLOW-VAC system and the strong positive impact on labour cost reduction. Today, all of the key fresh pork processors in the European countries are testing and considering FLOW-VAC as the best option to guarantee their fresh pork primal cuts.

Aldo Galbusera, Cheese & Processed meat market manager Cryovac Food Packaging EMEA, responsible for the FLOW-VAC system comments, “FLOW-VAC is one of the most successful packaging systems launched by Cryovac Food Packaging over the last few years. The number of installed lines and the related material sales confirm that the system is increasingly perceived as one of the best options when automation and cost reductions are needed by food processors. After the positive start up in Central East Europe, we are now also selling and installing complete lines in Western Europe.”

Modular equipment
FLOW-VAC is suitable for both small semi-automated lines and fully automated high speed lines. The system either can be integrated into installed, fully automated packaging lines or used to introduce automation to existing vacuum chamber machines. Investment levels are kept under control thanks to a modular equipment offer. Sealed Air Cryovac and ULMA are selling the FLOW-VAC system in combination with the complete range of the famous Cryovac® vacuum machines. Their huge experience guarantees an effective response to the increasingly demanding packaging needs of the modern food industry by offering a system approach that ensures low total pack costs and high levels of reliability.
